White Crocheted Chicken

S ome of my most favorite and cherished items that I own and fill my heart with love are those that are handmade by someone close and dear to me. On this beautiful chilly White Wednesday morning, I wanted to share with you one of those items.

She is this pretty, white, crocheted chicken made a long time ago by my abuelita (grandma).

This cutie was a recent gift from my mom. She knows how much items like these mean to me, so she passed her down to me. Thank you Mom!

Although my abuelita passed when I was very young, I still remember her and the times we spent together. I do miss her very, very much. So this little cutie is something I will cherish and hold dear to my heart always because it was so lovingly made by the hands of my sweet and kind abuelita.

There is more to see over at Kathleen's Faded Charm. Please hop on over to her blog and check out what others are sharing on this WHITE WEDNEDSAY!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Hugs and Kisses,

Ana - the kitchen is so cute. Heirlooms that are passed down are such a blessing. Just think of all the cute things that you make that your grandchildren will blog about someday. =)

That is the cutest little chicken. Remember when I told you that Mama starched her doilies and dried the ruffles around coke bottles? Well, those are the kind of ruffles I was talking about...

I know that is precious to your heart. I am so happy that your mother gifted it to you. I know that you will always treasure it!

Your little crocheted chicken is so precious! What a wonderful cherished item that your mom passed on to you to treasure! I have patterns for knitted animals and I don't knit, but was able to visually come up with an idea for the crocheted teddy bears I made several years ago -- only made four of them, but they turned out so cute. I would like to try another animal -- especially the camel since I am in the Middle East, but just haven't gotten motivated to do so yet. Handmade items are so special because they are made and given with love. All the best to you this Thursday! Tammy :)
