Barbie....Paper or Plastic?

The other day while I was visiting my dear friend Julie Marie at Idyllhours, I read a post she wrote about some hidden treasures she had found in her own home. She had kept these treasures safely stored away in her basement until it was time for her to rediscovered them. Amongst all these wonderful treasures were her childhood Barbie dolls. (Click on her blog's name to take you to her Barbie post) I ♥ Barbie dolls...I mean, what little girl doesn't? Right? Sadly, as I told Julie Marie, I never owned one as a little girl. I guess back then Barbie was just a bit too expensive.

Today as I found myself thinking back on her post, I remembered something.....

Wait a minute!....

YES!

I did owned a Barbie... And I still have her too.

Well.... she's made out of paper, but she's a Barbie nonetheless.

I still have all her 1973 stylish wardrobe.

And all her cool accessories.

Here she is in one of my favorite outfits.

Thank you Julie Marie for helping me remember my own hidden childhood treasure.

**********

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

And thank you all for stopping by today.

Blessings.

Hugs and Kisses,

Hi Ana,
When I was a little girl my favorite thing to play with was paper dolls. I had a lot of them and I can remember going to the drugstore, picking them out and my mom helping me cut them out. That was before they had punch out ones.

Hugs,
LeAnn:)

Ana,

I have never seen a Barbie paper doll. I had a Barbie and I continually made clothes for her. Aah, sweet memories. I remember all of those styles, I was a teenager then.

How very sweet! I don't know if I owned a Barbie or not. My memories of childhood are very scattered. I still have my Baby Beans -- she stopped talking when I left her out in the rain. :( Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Blessings, Tammy

I know that I had some of those paper ones as well! They were so much fun. I had one plastic one but to be honest, enjoyed the paper ones more...
Funny eh?
Thanks for the trip down memory lane....

Ana,
Barbie dolls were and are great. Oh but there is something about a paper doll! Maybe because I love the touch and feel of paper, maybe because it is easier to change their clothes. I mean outfits:)
Blessings always!

I love paper dolls!! I found a box full of my mom's old ones at my Grandma's house when I was a little girl. Unfortunately I left them out one too many times and my mom threw them in the trash. It breaks my heart to this day. I have often thought about collecting them as I see them from time to time in the antique stores. I am glad you kept yours. They are surely a wonderful childhood memory. My vote is for paper dolls! xoxo

I'm certainly old enough to remember a 70's Barbie, but never knew there were paperdolls of her! Now I feel deprived! LOL I loved paper dolls (still do) and I loved Barbie (and Ken...and Skipper... and Midge... LOL)
