I've Been Painting...

A LOT!

Two rooms, two closets, a hallway, baseboards, trim and a bookcase...Whew! And in between drying time I've been cleaning, organizing, arranging, rearranging, decorating, redecorating and a bit of blogging...Whew!

Sadly, nothing is show off show and tell ready yet. I'm going as fast as I can, promise, but some of the work needs to be done by my sweet, wonderful, loving, handy, (did I say wonderful?) and very, very tired hubby. Poor thing I've been working him so hard...Love you Babe. So needless to say, I'll just have to wait to show you what we've been up to...I've got to give my hubby some time to recharge :-)

Oh, but there is one thing I can show you today... My mantel.

Recently I redecorated it.

This piece was my inspiration...I got the frame with the pretty moth print at a little shop call Country Roads a few weeks back...It was from my sweet friend Kate's booth...Love it.

I made this topiary out of a 99 cent store urn/pot, a couple of styrofoam balls and some moss. And the mirror behind it is from a thrift store that I bought for a couple of dollars...It's an old medicine cabinet door.

Here's a closer look. I just gave it some paint and antiqued it a bit.
No vignette of mine is complete without a pair of birds. These two were a gift from my cousin Irma. She knows me oh so well...Love them.
This iron piece is another thrift store find and the hurricane glass and stand were a great deal at Michael's. Sweet!

And inside the hurricane glass, all safe and protected, is a little nest I found abandoned in my back yard.
Well, I think it's time for me to get back to my painting...second coat on the bookcase...

I do hope you enjoyed your visit today.
Thank you for stopping by.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings.

Hugs and Kisses,

Very pretty! Also your mantle looks so nice with all of your decorating. I want to pick one thing out but I love it all! The moth picture is very nice too! I really like that! Don't work too hard now....I hate to paint but it is kind of a necessity now and then especially when I get a new "idea" in my head! Hugs~Patti

Querida Ana, I`m so happy to visit your wonderful blog again, it looks lovely in the new "dress". I have loved your mantel vignettes and the topiary you made is beautiful!! Have seen the wire works you been doing and those are one of my favorites. Will be great to see your new painted rooms and the bookcase...you and your husband have had lots of work and hope you can relax soon and be happy for the work done.
Thank you so much for your message on Feb. and the words for me and my country... things are very slowly getting better here but there`s so much to do still, the 8.8 earthquake was a very huga one and we are survivors!!!
Muchos cariños,
Maria Cecilia

Hello there Ana,
I just found your blog from Bella Rosa's blog. I was so blessed by your post about Kate from Salvage Dior. Both of your posts made me cry. What a blessing that the Lord lead you to each other. I don't even know either of you and I am so touched.
I am new to blogging, I was introduced to it by a dear friend of mine that also loves the Lord. Every time I spend hours linking from blog to blog, I am so amazed at how many women in this crazy junkin' business are also Christians.
As I read posts like these, I have joy in my heart that this is what God wants me to do.

PS Your pictures are just lovely. I'll be waching for the updates!
Blessings,
Missy

Hi Ana,
Your mantle is so pretty! I scored a huge gorgeous frame yesterday at the thrift store and was going to paint it black, but I think I have changed my mind seeing yours...the white is so pretty!!
