Hooray For Montgomery Ward!

My hubby's 84-year-old grandma and I have a lot in common. We both have the same name, we both married guys with the same name and we both love, love, love to go thrift shopping. She is just the cutest...Whenever she wants us to go she'll ask me, "When are we going to Montgomery Ward?" (Do you remember that department store?) Montgomery Ward is the code word for thrift store she has always used to throw off anyone who may not appreciate shopping at thrift stores as much as we do...Hee, hee, hee. Told you she was cute.

Anyways, during our most recent trip to ~Montgomery Ward~ I found this...

I just couldn't believe my eyes!

And I've been wanting a trophy cup for a while too.

I've seen them all around Blogland and think they're very pretty.

Hooray for thrift stores.....Mmmm, I mean...Hooray for Montgomery Ward! :-)

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Have a wonderful day.

Blessings.

Hugs and Kisses,

That trophy is very pretty, I wish my "Montgomery Ward" had beautiful things like that. Or is it that I always go there on Fridays? Have a wonderful weekend.

What a fun lady! She is sharp as a fiddle...or is it fit as a tack? Anyway, she would be fun to go shopping with. Does she buy things?

It is beautiful. A great find. I do remember Montgomery Ward stores. I worked at one when I was 20. Sorry to see those stores close. Your Grandmother is a sly one. HA! HA!

Hi Ana! I just had to laugh when I read this. How cute! When I was a little girl, my Grandmother used to take me to "The Hunt Shop". Once I grew up and scoured thrift stores on my own, I began remembering those trips and realized she was taking me to thrift stores to hunt for hidden treasures. ;). Cherish every minute with your Husband's Grandmother. What a blessing!

Hi Ana, what a cute post. I love your vignette...it is just wonderful. Love your grandma too. She sounds like a doll. Boy my mom and I love Goodwill...funny though she would never go with me until just a couple of years ago...and couldn't believe how wonderful it was.
All those years...she was trapped at Penney's
Hahahaha
Blessings,
Debbie

Our Montgomery Ward store closed here many, many years ago and we have never seen another.

I just scooped up one of the little crocheted bracelets...and I am think it is gorgeous. I am hoping it will fit a 6 1/2 in wrist. At least I think that is what mine measures..will it? I REALLY want them both..but...hmm...maybe I should rush back!! :)
