We're Feelin' Blue

It's been a bit rainy and a little on the cold side here lately so I haven't been "inspired" to do much of anything. I guess this weather is just making me feel a little blue...

And I think I'm not the only one. Can you guess what this is?

Wait for it...

It's a blue roly poly...Found him in my garden the other day....Have you ever seen anything like it? Isn't it the most beautiful periwinkle blue you have ever seen? Boy, just when I thought I'd seen everything...

Wishing you all a beautiful day!

Hugs and Kisses,

I think that roly-poly has some real issues!! Could he have gotten into some radiation or something, do you think? Very interesting.

Oh my goodness...I don't believe I have ever seen a blue bug in my life! I think I would run, screaming, if I found him in my garden. However, that being said, I'm kinda intrigued by him right now, since he's not crawling in front of me. LOL Can you tell I'm a chicken?

It's been raining & gloomy here all week too. It's pouring as I type this. Hopefully the weather will clear for both of us soon. Have a nice weekend, my dear, sweet friend.

Ana, I thought you must have done with with a photo editing program!! WOW! What a find! So glad you saw it AND photographed it for us to see! I think that has to be a one-of-a-kind! Wonder how it got to be blue??? Is is genetic or environmental?? How did that happen? Inquiring minds want to know! blessings ~ tanna

I was very curious so I googled "blue roly poly" and learned that a blue poly is a sick poly. Poor guy. He is beautiful though. Wish I looked that good when sick! I'm a first time visitor and loving your blog! Thanks for sharing!

These bugs turn blue when they are sick, its very sad :c

They turn blue when sick because their blood is quite literally blue in color. This is from the fact that they utilize copper as applied to other minerals. Also, they are crustaceans, not insects, I guess if u consider crustaceans bugs, the term bug could be consider correct.
