Won't you come in and see what I've done to our petite cottage for Halloween?
Oh, don't be scared...It's not a real skull...Hee, hee, hee. It's a traditional "calavera" (skull) very popular in Mexico during El Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) which is celebrated on the 1st and 2nd of November.
The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have passed on.I found this one at the Swap Meet this past weekend...Isn't it pretty? Can I even say that about a skull? Hee, hee, hee. Look at the pretty little bird design on it. When I showed it to my hubby he said, "You would find a skull with birds on it." He knows how much I love little birdies...:-)
The mantel got a little Halloween makeover too.
Kinda spooky huh? Actually I just stopped dusting for a couple of days and there you have it...cobwebs and spookiness...Hee, hee, hee.
Hugs and Kisses,
