Coffee Table Redo

Believe it or not this coffee table was left behind by the previous home owners...16 years ago.

However, it didn't look like this originally. I painted it white and attempted to distress and antique it. What can I say, these were my first attempts...way back then...at these techniques. Hee, hee, hee.

There was a gap in the front where I believe there was once a drawer.

My hubby put a piece of wood to cover the gap and I added this brass rose plaque that I found at a thrift store...

Just love the detail on the rose plaque...My old painting techniques not so much :-)

Well, in light of my poor first attempts to antique, distress and weather it, I thought it was long over due for a redo. So this is what it looks like now.

So what do you think?

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Have a wonderful day.

I'm In The Garden Today...

Won't you join me? Just go around the back... Right through the gate...

It's been kinda gloomy today so I thought a little walk through my garden would cheer things up.

I do have a few little blooms here and there...

Oh look, a sweet little birdie is visiting also.

I'm so happy you stopped by for a visit...

And I do hope you enjoyed your walk with me through my garden. Hope you come and visit again soon. Have a wonderful new week my dear friends.

Hooray For Montgomery Ward!

My hubby's 84-year-old grandma and I have a lot in common. We both have the same name, we both married guys with the same name and we both love, love, love to go thrift shopping. She is just the cutest...Whenever she wants us to go she'll ask me, "When are we going to Montgomery Ward?" (Do you remember that department store?) Montgomery Ward is the code word for thrift store she has always used to throw off anyone who may not appreciate shopping at thrift stores as much as we do...Hee, hee, hee. Told you she was cute.

Anyways, during our most recent trip to ~Montgomery Ward~ I found this...

I just couldn't believe my eyes!

And I've been wanting a trophy cup for a while too.

I've seen them all around Blogland and think they're very pretty.

Hooray for thrift stores.....Mmmm, I mean...Hooray for Montgomery Ward! :-)

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Have a wonderful day.

Blessings.

Happy Spring Everyone!

♫ In Spring time the only pretty ring time.

Birds sings, hey ding, a ding, a ding.

Sweet lovers love the Spring ♫

~Willy Wonka~

Oh my, who do I see hiding behind there?

It's Mr. Bunny!

Hi Mr. Bunny...Come out and say hello to all my sweet blogging friends.

You sure make a pretty addition to my Spring Time coffee table vignette.

Shall we take a closer look?

What's that you say Mr. Bunny? You like the new chicken wire cloche I just made...

Well how nice of you to say...It holds a sweet little nest my friend Irma found for me.

Yes, I agree Mr. Bunny, the pretty flowers and flower pot my mami gave me are my favorite too.

She knows how much I love birdies.

What was that Mr. Bunny?....Oh, okay, I'll let them know.

Mr. Bunny wants to wish everyone a very Happy Spring!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Spring Blessings.

I'm So Egg-cited!

I thought it would be fun to decoupage some eggs, but I didn't think they'd turn out so cute!

I'm so egg-cited about these cuties...Look how they sparkle....Love me that glitter :-)

I made some for me and....

some for my Etsy shop.

So what do you think? Do you think it was an egg-cellent idea? Hee, hee, hee.

Wishing everyone a fantabulous weekend.

Blessings.

Cute Planter

I saw the cutest planters ever at a craft fair we went to last fall. They were made simply out of old chairs and some chicken wire. I knew I had all the necessary items to make one at home plus my hubby offered to make it for me soooo...

Of course I took him up on it right away and had him work on it the following day....

After it was all done it was my turn to finish it up...Unfortunately it took me 5 months to decide what to plant in it...

Finally this weekend I planted this Bloomingdale that was a gift from our sweet friends Tony and Lally.

You can tell the chair has been sitting outside for a while since my hubby put it together for me...

So weathered and chippy...Just the way I like it.

Starting to look a little more Springy around our petite cottage...Yay!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Wishing everyone a fantabulous new week.

Blessings.

A Petite Dress Form

“Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It's self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can't try to do things. You simply must do things.” ~Ray Bradbury

I am guilty of always over analyzing whatever I do, especially when it comes to creating something.

Not this time...I just went for it...And this is what came out.

Made entirely with bits and pieces I already had like a vintage perfume bottle topper, a crown button cover, a petite dress form I paper mache with old dictionary pages and....

a vintage crystal door knob...

I'm very curious to hear what you think...

New Old Chandy

This is one of two identical chandeliers we bought at an antique mall a long, long, long time ago...

They both had all but three of their original prisms.

I think I got a steal...Both chandys for only $60.
One of the chandeliers hangs in my petite living room. The other, I'm sad to say, sat in my garage forever... Until a few days ago.

My sweet hubby cleaned it up, rewired it and hung it up for me...It had been on his "honey do" list for a while now...

He said he thought it would make a good birthday surprise...
And it did!
And here it is in it's new home...I love it. Thank you honey.
By the way, this is the other side of our sweet suite which is finally all done now, yay!

Thank you all for stopping by today.
Hope you come and visit again soon.
Until then.
Blessings.
