Soap Holder

In all honesty, I haven't been able to accomplish much lately and it's all because of this heat. It just renders me useless. I know I shouldn't complain, our 80+ degrees does not compare to other places but I am just not a hot weather person. Maybe that's why I love the autumn and winter seasons the best.

Anyway, I am not one to sit idle for too long. I have to be creating all the time and the only thing I can really do when it's this hot is crochet....But only after the sun goes down and while sitting in front of a fan that's on full blast...Hee, hee, hee!

Here's another crochet project, hope you like it...
It's a soap holder.
Here's a closer look. Not sure if you can make it out but there's a "C" on it.
These soaps are the reason why I decided to make the holder. They were a gift from a very sweet friend of mine who makes them. They smell so good. Can't wait to start using them. Thank you again Ido.

So how's the weather treating you lately?
Wishing you all a beautiful day.

Hugs and Kisses,

Hi Ana,
I love home made soap and the fresh smell..
Your crochet bag for the home made soap would make such a pretty gift together.
I can see the C...I haven't been knitting or crocheting just sewing. I am going to crochet your pot holder :) I love it.
It has been hot here too, and you can find me under the fan too LOL. I am looking forward to fall its one of my favorite times of year also! Gary is taking our little Grandson to Logo Land this weekend along with his Great Grandpa and they will be meeting up with family. Its a "Boys" weekend, so you know what that means. I will be able to sew all day long without any interruptions, maybe I can finish the slip covers for the patio set.
Sending you big hugs, Elizabeth XO

Oh my gosh, thank you Ana! your soap holder is so pretty, love the idea. Sorry about the heat, we'll reach 88 degrees today and that is a "cool" day for us, our normal days are between 93-97. I wish I could crochet like you, but when I tried, everything turned in to a basket lol! I will e-mail you pictures of some crocheted necklaces that a friend gave me.
Stay cool!
XOXOXO
Ido

Pretty soap holder, Ana! Great idea too. The weather here has been perfection, 70-80s & sunny!

That's the prettiest way to dress up a bar of soap I've ever seen!

We're lucky to be enjoying cooler weather right now. Hot weather makes me cranky. :@

You did very well with your soap holder. It's a nice pastime and very relaxing I think.
Bet those soaps smell good.
Our weather is a little cold as we are on the tail end of winter. Like you,not looking forward to the excessive heat of Summer.xxoo

Very cute soap holder, Ana! You a lady of many talents!

We are having unseasonably cool weather here right now - it was in the 60's this morning, which is unheard of here in Texas in August!

At 11:30 am, it is 102 degrees in my neck of the woods. :) We live in a/c most of the year and certainly couldn't survive without it. I've seen patterns for the soap holders but haven't made any yet. Yours turned out great. Have a wonderful rest of the week. Tammy

How perfectly lovely! So silly question, is the holder just for 'giving/display' or would you use the soap IN the holder and the holder like a 'scrubbie'?

Cindy said...

What a great idea! Then do you use the soap and holder together as a cloth covered soap? That is a wonderful addition to a bathroom. Or if they smell really wonderful they could just hang and smell pretty, oh and look pretty too!
Love and hugs, Cindy

I found a little crochet bag similar to yours that I made about 20 years ago. It makes me want to dig out my crochet hooks.
I should carry my crochet hook and thread with me for times when I am just waiting around.
Thanks for some inspiration.
