Pillow Crazy

Remember I said I was thinking of making some pillows for my newly slipcovered wingback chairs? (Here) Well, I went a little crazy and....

I made pillows for my wingback chairs, my love seat and my sofa...9 in all.

These are the ones I made for my sofa.

Here's a little closer look. I hand-painted the "C" on the one and crossed-stitched hubby's and my initials on the other. The rest are just simple square pillows. Oh and all the pillows were made from fabrics I already had on hand.

These, with the exception of the "Queen Bee" one, which I found at TJ Max, are the two I made for the love seat.

The little one is made out of white burlap and again hand-painted by me.

And these are the ones that started it all...Also made out of white burlap. The flower, however, is made out of the same fabric I used to make the slipcovers.

I forgot to mention that all these are pillow coverings and I used pillow forms I already had. They were a lot of work, but I am very happy how they all turned out. So what do you think?

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
Wishing you a beautifully creative day.

Easter Crafts

Hi Everyone!

Today I'm excited to share with you, two Easter crafts I've been working on for our fireplace.

The first is my Easter mantel banner.

It was fairly simple to make. I just cut little triangles from some vintage music sheet and used my Cricut for the black medallions and letters. And to hold it all together I used some jute rope and that was it. Pretty simple, right?

The second craft project I created was this interchangeable wreath.

Interchangeable? Yes, the disks in the center are interchangeable...Here, I'll show you what I mean.

I put black felt in the center of the wreath and some hook and loop (the hook part only) on the back of the disks... And voila, I can easily change the disks for different occasions. So far I've only made an Easter disk and an all occasion one, but I want to make one for Christmas, Halloween, maybe a birthday one...Wow, the possibilities are endless.

I would love to hear what you think?

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
Wishing you a very happy and creative new week.

Chic and shabby zombies?

This is my very handsome, sweet, cute, thoughtful, handy, creative, funny, in case of a zombie epidemic you'd want to be with him cause he has some awesome survival skills, brother-in-law Victor. Oh and did I mention he's single?

Every Sunday night my hubby, daughter and I get together with him, my other brother-in-law Julio and his girlfriend Traci, and our friend Rudy to watch the t.v. show The Walking Dead on the AMC Network. I know what you're thinking...Zombie show? Ana likes to watch zombie shows? Well, there's a little something you didn't know about me...Hee,hee,hee. Anyway we have so much fun when we get together. We scream, we squirm, we laugh and have such a great time.

To commemorate this evening's season 2 finale of The Walking Dead I thought I would tell you about what my sweet brother-in-law Victor gave me for my birthday. What does one thing have to do with the other you may be asking yourselves? Well continue reading....

This is what Victor made for me. A shadow box of sorts. He knows how much I love the white, chippy, distressed, shabby chic look. Did I mention he MADE this.
Look at all the detail he put into it.

Love the chicken wire. But what does this have to do with a zombie show?

He is just too cute and funny. Oh and did I mention he's single? :-)

I LOVE IT!

Thank you Victor. Love you tons.

Hope everyone has a zombie-abulous Sunday...Hee, hee, hee.

They are done!

Hi Everyone!

Boy, it feels like I haven't been around for a long while. It's just that I've been so totally consumed by my latest project...4 1/2 days it took me to finish...4 1/2 DAYS! All my focus and time has been spent on this project lately.

I've made a few of these in the past and the largest one I've made only took me about a day and a half. "I just don't understand why these took me soooo long", said the perfectionist :-) But they are done and I can finally move on to other things...Like catching up with my house chores...Hee, hee, hee.

Anyway, a few weeks back I found these two chairs at my local thrift store...And they were only $45....FOR BOTH! Score!

I love wingback chairs, but not loving the color...So you know I was thinking slipcovers when I got them. Ready for the "AFTER"?

FOUR AND A HALF DAYS!!!! But they are done!

Now I'm thinking...New throw pillows for my new chairs...

Yes! But I'll have to get to them after I catch up with my house work :-)

So what do you think? Worth the time, effort, sweat, tears, etc? :-)

Wishing you all a beautiful Spring day.

Feels like Spring to me.

The sun is out and it's oh so warm.
The birds are singing and chirping outside my window.
Flowers blooming every where...

I know it's not "officially" Spring until the 20th, but it sure does, feels, sounds and looks like it.
Wishing all my wonderful blogging friends a beautiful Spring day.

Another year...

Today is my birthday...Yay! And so far it has been a totally awesome one.

Yesterday morning my mom and dad, along with my sisters and their families got together for a birthday breakfast in my honor. And yesterday evening, we got together over at my two brother-in-law, Victor and Julio and Julio's girlfriend Traci's house, like every Sunday to watch the "Walking Dead"...What? Ana likes to watch zombie shows? I know! Hee, hee, hee. Anyway, they had a little surprise birthday gathering there for me too. Sooo super sweet...(Thank you guys. I love you.)

And today, my hubby asked for the day off to spent it with me... But the celebration does not stop there. This evening we will be headed over to my mother-in-love's for a birthday dinner. How lucky is this girl? I just feel so blessed.

Wishing you all a beautiful day.
