Well, famous amongst my family anyway...Hee, hee, hee.
Since I just whipped up a batch I thought I'd share the super easy recipe with you, hope you enjoy.
This is what you'll need:
For this batch I used:
10 Serrano peppers
1 Anaheim pepper
3 Jalapeño peppers
7 medium sizes tomatillos
You can use more or less Serranos and Jalapeños depending on how hot you like your salsas. This particular batch turned out a bit on the mild side for my daughter and me, but then again we are use to a lot hotter. But if you ask Hubby he'd say it was "Woo Wee Hot!" Hee, hee, hee.
First thing you are going to do is prep your ingredients. Peel the tomatillos, cut the stems from the peppers (Let me add a little warning here, please be careful when handleing the peppers, they can cause irritation and some burning sensation on the skin. Do not touch your face or eyes. Make sure to wash your hands thouroughly after handleing.) then give all the ingredients a good wash. Next, dump them all into a large pot of water and boil them until tender.
Below is what they should look like when they are ready.
Let them cool down before scooping them with a slotted spoon into a blender.
Puree and add salt to taste...And that's it. Pretty easy huh? Oh but soooo delicious. We put it on everything, and I do mean everything. I guess it's a Mexican thing. Hee, hee, hee. I do hope you like it.
Oh forgot to mention that this recipe makes about 5 cups of salsa. I know that sounds like a lot but believe me it doesn't last long around here. So I guess if you don't want to make this much you could cut the recipe in half.
This is what our beautiful Convention Center looks like on any given, ordinary day.
(Sourcefor the above image only, the rest are all my own.)
And this is what it looks like every year around this time for 4 days.
A 5'3" women's perspective...that would be me.
A bird's eye view? Hubby's perspective...Well, he took the picture with his arms extended over his head...Hee, hee, hee. But why are all this people here, you ask?
The answer is simple....COMIC CON!!!
Although my husband and daughter didn't get tickets this year they thought it would be fun to take me to check it out even if it was only from the outside....But there is so much to see and experience outside too, especially for a first timer like me...check it out.
Got a chance to see all the Batmobiles ever filmed. Even got to see a few famous people...
Of course you can't have the Batmobiles without Batman...Here he is battling with his archenemy Bane...Doesn't look too good for Batman though.
The Three Stooges...Hee, hee, hee. Love them!
Link and his friend from the Legend of Zelda video games.
And the day wouldn't have been complete without bumping into this very famous or should I say infamous guy...Jabba the Hut. I know this made my hubby's day...Huge Star Wars fan...That explains why he loves coming the Comic Con so much...Such a nerd :-) Anyway, we had a great time.
My hubby is fully recovered from a painful case of shingles and is back to work after a week of being quarantine in the house (poor thing) and my daughter begins her week-long Summer Intensive art program that she has been so anxiously waiting for. And me?....
Well, it's a wonderful day because my family is healthy and happy and because I get to start my day with a delicious cup of coffee from my brand new pear green percolator coffee pot and a couple of chocolate chip cookies. Awesome way to start any day. Would you care to join me?
