In a few more days my daughter goes back to school...HER SENIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL! Yikes! I can't believe it went by soooo fast. Anyway, we've been getting ready and organized. One of the things she is always complaining about in the mornings, when she is getting ready for school, is about sorting through a mess of tangled necklaces so....
One day while thrift shopping, I came across this tie rack for only 65 cents. When I saw it, that little light bulb over my head went off.
Wasn't too sure if it would work, but for 65 cents I thought it was worth a try, and it did...Yay!
I envisioned it painted to match her room decor but she insisted it was perfect just the way it was...Easy enough. So what do you think?
Thank you so much for stopping by for a sweet visit.
In all honesty, I haven't been able to accomplish much lately and it's all because of this heat. It just renders me useless. I know I shouldn't complain, our 80+ degrees does not compare to other places but I am just not a hot weather person. Maybe that's why I love the autumn and winter seasons the best.
Anyway, I am not one to sit idle for too long. I have to be creating all the time and the only thing I can really do when it's this hot is crochet....But only after the sun goes down and while sitting in front of a fan that's on full blast...Hee, hee, hee!
Here's another crochet project, hope you like it...
It's a soap holder.
Here's a closer look. Not sure if you can make it out but there's a "C" on it.
These soaps are the reason why I decided to make the holder. They were a gift from a very sweet friend of mine who makes them. They smell so good. Can't wait to start using them. Thank you again Ido.
The other day, while surfing the net, I came across a free, vintage style, hot pad, crochet patternhere. It reminded me of some my mom use to have when I was a little girl so I just had to give one a try.
I used cotton crochet thread by Sugar N' Cream in a creamy and peachy color.
I thought it would be fun to give my pictures a little vintage feel to go with the vintage style hot pad
and my vintage O'Keefe and Merritt stove with a fun filter I found on Photobucket.
Kinda vintagey chic, don't you think?
Hope the weather is treating you well. Stay cool my friends.
Nest(nest) noun: a place of rest, retreat, or lodging :Home
I am always thankful for our petite cottage home but today, for some reason, I feel a bit more thankful. It may not be the prettiest, fanciest or biggest house but it is our home and every little corner is filled with lots and lots of love.
"Be it ever so humble, there is no place like Home."
Wishing all my sweet blogging friends a beautiful day.
