I'm late, I'm late....

For a very important date.

I usually start my Christmas decorating the weekend right after Thanksgiving but, I've just been running a little late....At least yesterday I was able to get to my mantel...Tell me what you think.
This year I wanted to show case my beautiful mercury glass trees from Costco so they took center stage.
I think mercury glass is so pretty, don't you?
Here's a closer look.
A couple of white hydrangeas, some pine cones and berries to add some color and interest.
How about you, have you started your Christmas decorating?

Wishing you a wonderful day.

Vintage Beauties

Hi Everyone!

I've been busy working on a project for a giveaway I have planned for next month, but more on that later, like on another post. Anyway, since I was taking a little break from the project to let some glitter dry I thought I would share with you a special little collection of mine.

My Vintage Beauties
Love vintage lipsticks and lipstick holders...Most of  my tubes still have their original red colored lipstick.
These are perfume dispensers...the center piece is a lipstick/perfume dispencer/compact combo.  Do you have any special collections?

Hope you are having a beautiful day.
Thank you for stopping by.

Welcome Fall

Fall is finally here...Yay!

♪It's beginning to feel a lot like au-tumn♪
Days are getting a little shorter, nights a little cooler and we've even had some rain.
I love sitting in this room when the weather is cooler...The sun that comes in through the windows just warms our whole little living room right up.
I just love the cooler weather that fall and winter bring and everything that comes along with it like wearing those warm, cozy sweaters, sipping on hot cocoa and baking yummy treats. Also, starting a fire in our fireplace and snuggling up in front of it. Just so much to love about this time of the year :-)
So Welcome fall and Welcome friends to our petite cottage.

Thank you all for stopping by for a visit.
Wishing you all a beautiful day.

Fall Mantel

Hi Everyone!

Today we are expecting temperatures of 89°F+...Not very autumny weather if you ask me but at least our petite living room looks a little autumny.

A couple of days ago I gave our mantel a little fall makeover and thought I'd share some pictures...Hope you enjoy.
Just love those beautiful, rich, autumn colors.
The "Bless Our Home" pumpkin is one of three-in-a-pack that I got at Big Lots a few years ago. The garland and pine cones are from Jo Ann's, also from a few years ago and pretty much the rest were dollar store and thrift store finds.
I made these stackable fabric pumpkins with cinnamon stick for a stem.
The weather has been crazy everywhere, some places worse than others...So how's the weather treating you?

Keeping everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy in prayer.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
I always enjoy your company.
Wishing everyone a wonderful new week.

Dia de Los Muertos

On November 1st and 2nd, El  Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is celebrated in Mexico. It is a special day when all family members, friends and loved ones who have passed on are celebrated and remembered.

There are many wonderful traditions that come along with this celebration but I think my most favorite one has to be the colorful calaveras or skulls. It is a common and very recognizable symbol of this day.

Here are a few of my calaveras...
This one is ceramic with hand-painted designs. Found this cutie at the Swap Meet.
These three little ones were a gift from my hubby and daughter. Can you believe they found them at Sav-On drugstore?
Now these two are the very traditional sugar calaveras all the way from Mexico. They were a gift from my mom and dad.
And lastly, a little pillow I made and some cute little foam calaveras made by my hubby, daughter, her boy-friend and me...

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

Wishing everyone a

Happy November
and a
Feliz Dia de los Muertos.
