Dress Form Ball

Happy New Week Everyone!
We are definitely starting it off on the right foot here with a blog party...Yay!
Carol, over at The Polka Dot Closet is hosting her 2nd Annual Dress Form Ball!
Today I get to share with you my dress form named...named...hmmm, I just realized I haven't named her yet. I know a lot of you ladies have names for your dress forms but I just haven't thought of one...yet.

Anyway, this is my dress form...
She resides in our master bedroom. She was a treasure passed down from my grandmother to my mother and my mother passed it down to lucky me. Oh, but this is not what she looked liked when I first got her...Unfortunately I didn't take a "before" picture since it was way before my blogging days. But below is a picture I found on the net of one exactly like it...
I've had this picture on my computer for the longest time as reference and don't remember where I found it...Sorry I can't give proper credit :-(
Anyway, now she is all dolled up with some of my favorite necklaces...She is also sporting a beautiful vintage shawl around her waist that was a gift from my mother-in-law.
Here's a closer look. Ooh, I made that domino necklace out of a R.A.T...For those of you who don't know what that means it's short for "roadside acquisition treasure," not a real rat... Hee, hee, hee. Love me some pearls.
So there you have it. My vintage dress form all dolled up and ready to par-tay...Hee, hee, hee.

Hope you will go visit some of the other bloggers participating. It'll be lots of fun. Just click on Carol's pretty little button at the top of my post to take you to the ball.

Oh, but before you go, I would love to hear any suggestions for names for my body form...Can't wait to hear them.

Thank you for stopping by.
Hope you all have a wonderful new week.

Hugs and Kisses,

Good morning, Ana,
Your blog is such a delight. I love all the vintage touches and French charm.
Your mannequin is lovely with all her adornments. Had you considered naming her after the one who gave her to you? What a beautiful tribute.
Have a wonderful week and thank you so much for visiting my blog.
Blessings,

Hi Ana, Your girl looks beautiful! I love her shawl and the pretty jewerly. It's wonderful that she'd been an heirloom. Maybe you'd like to name her after your grandma.

She's beautiful with all her fabulous jewels and scarf. I only named one of my mannequins so far, but must get busy thinking of something appropriate for the other gals.

Love your dress form - would like to have one myself! Have a super week!

Well she is BEAUTIFUL, and I love the very pretty chiffrobe/closet she stands along side of! I got a kick out of the phrase "roadside acquisition treasure"!!! I occasionally come by such treasures myself, when my son and I walk the dog; and now my son has a far better developed eye than I do!! (makes me laugh!)... Anyways, nice to meet you via The Dress Form Ball! Have a great week! ~tina

How wonderful that you have something like this that has been passed down through your family, Ana! I love how you've dressed her up. The necklaces are dazzling. : ) I love your armoire, too!

Teresa said...

She's precious. It's amazing to see the before and then the after - after you put your Art and Taste.
Love the necklaces. And how she's a conservative but winks of sassy and fun.
Perfect! You should give her a sweet name but that suggested a strong will like Lillian.
Well done, Ana!
Teresa (going to check on the other "dames" of the Ball)

Oh Ana, she is so beautiful. I wish I would have participated in this party. It looks so fun.

I think it is neat that your girl is a true heirloom. The nsme that immediately popped into my head was Clementine!! She's SO elegant though...so I dunno.

And I like the idea of a comment that said to name it after the person who passed it down.

Ah, decisions decisions...
