Creative Solutions

When one is limited in space one has to get a bit creative.
My new sewing space is quite petite. It's an awkward little room off the stair's landing. But that didn't stop me from trying to create a functional space.
A piece of wood big enough to go on top of the stairs, a little paint and voila! I have a cutting table that I can use whenever I'm sewing and put away easily behind the door when I'm not.
Good thing about it is that I can also use it as an ironing board. I made an ironing pad and matching hot iron holder from the fabric I had left from my sewing machine  chair makeover, here.
This sweet little pin cushion can easily be screwed on to the side so my pins are always handy. It was a gift from a very sweet cousin.

So there you have it.. What do you think?
So excited about checking off a couple more things from my list...Yay!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
Wishing you all a beautifully creative day.

Hugs and Kisses,

You are a genius at space utilization! I am in awe of your skills. Now, if you just lived near enough to show me how to use the sewing machine I got for Christmas that is still in the box!

Very creative, indeed, Ana! It's amazing what we can come up with when we need to. I really like that you've gotten two functions out of this little invention.

I have created sewing space in 3 different closets and the garage over the years. I have had two different houses with rooms dedicated to my crafting. It seems to me that having a great space or not isn't important. It's finding/making the time to be creative that I need work on.

Congrats on solving your workspace issue!

Now you see it...now you don't, you are a very resourceful girl!!! The fabric you used for the ironing pads is so pretty. Great idea adding the yardstick for quick measuring and reference. You're right, that pin holder is the sweetest!!!

I actually love having small spaces to give me a challenge. You should see the closet I write in! Sometimes these limitations bring out the best in us, having to think, redesign, repurpose!

Love that adorable pincushion! Anita

I think it is very you. Being small you'll love it more as it is you, your thoughts and creations and not much more room to go around ;). It exudes loveliness and comfort.
The pincushion is a wink to all the people that belong to your loving and cherished world. People who love and understand you so they know when something wants to go by and live in the magical nooks you create around the home. No pictures needed when you have this memories that besides don't ramp your world ;)
Too lovely and so you. Just like I imagine it when thoughts go your way.
Take Care and Enjoy every bit of it,
Teresa
