Fall Inspired Sideboard

Happy Fall Everyone!

Today is officially the first day of Autumn and to celebrate I would like to share my Fall inspired french style sideboard.
Nice and Simple.
The wooden box filled with my absolute favorite flower, the hydrangea, was created by Hubby out of a recycled pallet crate.
And the three beautiful pillar candle holders were a gift from our very sweet neighbors. Cute little white ceramic pumpkins are from Dollar Tree.
So, do you decorate for Fall too?

Wishing everyone a wonderful 1st day of Fall.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Coffee Table Vignette and Pillows

It may not feel like Autumn around here with all the hot weather we've been having but it sure does look like Autumn in our petite cottage. Today I'd like to share with you my Autumn inspired coffee table vignette.
Created with items I already had...
The candles, which by the way are battery operated (How cool is that?) the pretty little silver plate and the silver tray under everything were all thrift store finds from a while back. The stalked books I covered with brown paper bag paper and held them together with some lace. And the little bling bling magnet holding the "Hello Autumn" sign I  made out of a Dollar Store ring...Oh, and can you spy with your little eye the little pillow in the background that says "Blessings"? I made it and another that says "Thankful" a couple of days ago.
Here's a little closer look at my chicken wire cloche filled with fabric pumpkins.
I love, love, love birdies so I always try to incorporate them in my decor. These two cuties I bought at Michel's two or three years ago, if memory serves me well...Hee, hee. hee.
Here's the other pillow I made. I used an ink especially made for fabric and some letter stamps on some vintage raw silk fabric I've had forever. So what do you think? And are your ready for Autumn?

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.
Wishing you a wonderful new week.

Autumn Vignette

Hi Everyone!

I've been working on some Autumn inspired vignettes all around our petite living room. On our coffee table, sideboard, side tables and in this little corner of the room...
It's this little space between the kitchen and living room...right next to the chimney.
The little vintage table and trophy cup were both thrift store finds...Oh wait, and the tiny little oil can too.
This frame was a garage sale find. I just added a piece of plywood and painted it with chalkboard paint. I'm sure you've seen it before. I've had it for a while.

The vintage baby shoe forms I found at an antique mall. The little greenery ball is from Hobby Lobby.
Here's a closer look...Oh, almost forgot the little tarnished silver tray. It's also a thrift store find.
And at the very bottom, a wicker basket filled with pine cones and old books. All presented to you by the number 3...Hee, hee, hee.

In the next days I'll be sharing more of my Autumn inspired vignettes so won't you come back again soon?

Wishing you all a wonderfully blessed day.

Fall Porch

I am so excited and in such a hurry for fall weather to get here...cooler more cozy kind of days.
Our petite cottage is certainly reflecting that.
Our very petite porch is all set for Autumn!
So excited and in a hurry in fact that I my self am in fall mode...
Fall down the stairs mode that is...Hee, hee, hee.
Nothing broke...thank goodness, just some black and blue toes and a whole lot of soreness.
I know, I know there's a lesson to be learn here...

Enjoy every day as it comes.

2015 Autumn Mantel

Keeping things simple for this year's Autumn Mantel. Not too much fuzz but still quite Fall inspired, I believe.
Here is the Dollar Tree mum wreath that I made.
With the exception of the wreath and autumn leaves hanging from the corner everything else are pretty much items I already owned.

The stacked monogrammed fabric pumkins I made a few years ago...still love them.
The little cast iron urn was a thrift store find...treasure score for sure.
These candle sticks are my absolute favorite. Found them at a 99 Cent store, way back when things still cost only 99 cents...Hee, hee, hee.
The glittered autumn leaves were a Dollar Tree find.
So there it is...My simple 2015 Autumn Mantel. What do you think?

Playing with dolls

Today I am playing dress-up and photo-shoot with Jesse Sue, my vintage 1950's dolly.
This summer has been a very warm one and Jesse Sue did not have a single summer outfit to wear so I stitched her up this cute little criss-crossed apron top with matching little underpants.
Ahhh! She is definitely staying much cooler this way.
She is such a cutie patootie, don't you agree? If you'd like to know the story behind how she came to live with me please click here. And if you like to see who else is playing with their dollies today too just run over to my sweet friend Diane's blog, "Lavender Drems" here.

I have always said that laughing makes me feel young...well so does playing with my dolls. It is good to keep the mind, heart and soul young. Now go play.

Mum Wreath

Hi Everyone!

This weekend I've been busy decorating for Fall!
Today is only a tiny, little, petite peek of what I have done.

For the mantle I made this sweet little mum wreath out of items I purchased from Dollar Tree.
In all, the cost was only $4.00
Below are the items I used.  There were three different kinds of cream colored mums and a foam wreath form. Plus some burlap ribbon already had. So easy to make and I think it turned out very sweet.
I'll be sharing my Fall Mantel soon.
Hope you'll come back.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Cute and simple pet peeve solution

Dirty dishes in the sink is such a big pet peeve of mine, especially since we have a dishwasher.

Don't know why it drives me so bonkers.

My dear family's excuse for leaving them in the sink?

" I wasn't sure if the dishes in the dishwasher were dirty or clean."

Cute and simple solution....
Can you see it?
Here's a closer look. It's a little magnet I bought at Bed, Bath and Beyond that I transformed to this "Dirty/Clean" little sign with a bit of white acrylic paint.
When the dishwasher has dirty dishes it is turned on the side that says "Dirty"
And when they are clean it's flipped to the other side. Pretty simple huh?...Now if I could only get them to help clear the dishwasher when the dishes are clean....Will need to think of another cute and simple solution for that one. Hee, hee, hee.
Oh, forgot to show you what the magnet looked like before.

Thanks for stopping by.
Wishing you a lovely day.
