Show And Tell

I t's funny, but just a few months ago, I had no idea Blogland even existed. One day, only by mere chance, as I was "surfing the net", I came across this beautiful website. It was full of gorgeous pictures and great home decorating ideas. But this particular site was different from the others I had visited before. This one didn't seem to be selling was just a place where someone was sharing her life in her romantic home. Of course I was intrigued so I kept reading and coming back for more.

It was through this particular website that I discovered the wonderful world of blogging. It was none other than Cindy's My Romantic Home blog. It was her, without knowing, who encouraged me to start my own blog. I don't think I have ever thanked her, but today is the perfect day to do so.

C indy, I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for introducing me to the world of blogging. Because of you and your inspiring blog I was encouraged to started my very own, which has turned into one of my favorite creative outlets. Through it I have met some of the most wonderful and amazing friends. Thank you for being such an amazing inspiration.

With that being said, now I would like to continue with the Show and Tell portion of my post.

I have been wanting to join Cindy's Show and Tell for a while now and I am so excited to finally be able to participate. What is Show and Tell? Well, every Friday Cindy offers bloggers the opportunity to "show and tell" about something that they treasure and would like to share with others. If you are interested, why not hop on over to her blog (just click on the picture above) and get more details. And while you're there, check out what others are sharing, but before you go.... take a look at the item I have chosen to share.

This dress form once belonged to my grandmother, who passed it down to her daughter-in-law (my mom) who then passed it down to me.

It can be found in my daughter's bedroom which is styled after a Paris themed apartment. I thought this was the perfect home for the dress form.

My daughter and I chose to embellish it with some vintage brooches and accessories. The eyeglasses were my mom's first pair of reading glasses back when she was a young girl. Cute huh?

But this was not it's original state. With a little bit of batting and fabric I transformed it to what it is today. I didn't take a picture of the "before", but I found a similar one on the internet to share with you.

This is exactly what mine looked like when I first got it. Yikes! What do you think of it now?

Thank you all so much for stopping by today. I do hope you enjoyed your visit and that you come back again soon. Until next time.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

Hugs and Kisses,

You know, I've seen the functional, adjustable dress forms and never even considered it could be made to look like an old one. You did a wonderful job. It's nice to know your daughter appreciates it too.

Hi Ana, I loved learning about what inspired you to start your blog. I had similar feelings. I thought that since I didn't have a shop or an online Etsy or shop, that no one would ever find or read my blog. I was just interested in posting some of my passions and garden so my family could see them. It's funny though, because my mother is the only one in my family who reads my I loved seeing your mannequin. I love that your daughter has a Paris themed room. It looks lovely in there and she has adorned her beautifully.
