Rainy days and a petite red dining room.

It has been a beautiful rainy day today...And a bit cold too, cold enough to make it hail. I love rainy days because for some reason they relax me and put me in a very pensive state.
This morning, as I was sitting next to my window just enjoying the rain trickle down and thinking of everything and nothing in particular a thought popped in my head. I thought, "May be it's time I repainted our petite red dining room."
This room hasn't changed much since I first painted my red wall a few years back. I still love my red wall and it's still my favorite room of the house just the way it is but, I think it might be time for a little change.
My hydrangea center piece is a box my hubby made for me out of a discarded pallet. Love It!
Unfortunately the lighting in this room is not very good, please forgive the bad quality pictures. Anyway, this is our beautiful black buffet. Love it up against the red wall with all the pretty white.
I was having a bit of fun taking's a side view of the buffet.

I really do love this room just the way it is...*Sigh*... Maybe I'll keep it as is for a bit longer. What do you think?

Wishing you all a beautiful day.
Hugs and Kisses,

I love it just the way it is..After all red is for romance and what better place to have a red wall but in your dinning room. All the candle lit dinners and bottles of wine or beer LOL shared.
Ana its a beautiful room!
We had rain yesterday and even snow on the hills, the rain was chilly.
I hope our weekend is nice, Bernadette and I are going wedding dress shopping...I can't wait.
How are you feeling?
Sending love and hugs, Elizabeth

My house is all very light colors and I do love it but something about the pop of red in a house always makes me happy. Loving the pallet box.... Tell your hubby he needs to do a tutorial--I WANT ONE!!! :)

It's beautiful, Ana. The red wall is loaded with personality! It's always so hard to decide whether or not to make a change.

Hi Ana,

Your photos are all so lovely and your home gorgeous.
The red wall looks great and must be a romantic room when you are dinning.
I have a red hallway which I am thinking of changing too. Love the box with the hydrangeas.
Please send us a little of your rain, we still haven't had any.
Hope you are enjoying the week

I like it as it is. The red wall makes your dining room a warm and cozy spot. Although, if you change it I know you'll do something just as pretty. Your black buffet looks lovely filled with white dishes, and your high ceilings are wonderful!

Love your red dining room! You must promise to keep it a little longer!

I love your dining room, Ana! I really like your black buffet with the white dishes, too! I have a red room in my house (my husband's office), too and sometimes think I would like a change, but my husband doesn't want to change it, at least not yet!

It's too pretty to change Ana...and it makes you happy, and what is better than that?!
I fell the same way about rainy days. Unfortunately, here in my part of Idaho we don't get many, so I get excited when we do!
sending hugs...

I's say "Cabin Fever" ahahahah

When you start turning the nose upon everything you love around the home is when really all you wanted was to be out and about but since you can't you start to - what my husband calls - "invent" ahahahah

He spots this from a distance. So when I start "What if..." he says "Teresa, stop inventing. Soon rain will stop, you'll get over being closed in and won't make me do it exactly the same way the next time you want that lovely wall you loved and suited you".

He's right, mind you. Just don't tell him I said so. He'd get too smug.

Everything in that room suits you to a tee. Loveliness, simplicity with the odd wink to fun and extravaganza. Yes, you! Don't "invent" ;)!

If you love it, why change it? Change is only needful if you will love it better another way. It's a beautiful room, sweet and vibrant like you.
Hugs, Cindy

I really like the picture you have of outside through the rain on your window.
I like your red dining room too. I have talked to several people this month who are painting a room in their home, the bug hasn't hit me yet but it must be going around.
Have a great week ahead

I love it the way it is too. At our last house I had three walls of my open dining room painted the prettiest red. After a few years, I just thought something had to change so I painted them. It was nice that the room was brighter but I missed my red.
