Sweet Little Dolly

Hello everyone!

This is my new little dolly. Isn't she the sweetest? Not sure if you knew this about me but, I love dolls...What can I say, I am still a little girl at heart. She was my Valentine's Day gift from my hubby.

However this is not what she looked like when I first got her. This is not what she looked like when she first won my heart...

She has been cleaned up, her dress and undergarments have been washed, mended and pressed and her little body has been re-strung...I still need to work on her little mohair wig though.

I found her at a thrift store. Wanna hear something super silly? When I first picked her out of a bin full of random toys and saw the disheveled state she was in well, it touched me so much it actually moved me to tears...Silly huh? Well needless to say when my hubby saw me crying like a big baby and cradling the doll in the middle of the store he said, "You're not leaving her behind." He knew I had connected with this dirty little doll and there was no way he was going to let me leave her behind.
This is how she looked when I first found her. Unfortunately the black velevet trim was so old it just fell apart when I hand washed it.. I was only able to salvage the bow from the back that is now on her hair but, other than that everthing else cleaned up really well.
I know she's only a doll but, the thought of her once belonging to a little girl who loved her and who played with her and now she was all alone and forgotten in a bin full of random toys at a thrift store....Oh my goodness I can't believe I'm tearing up again....Anyway, she has a new home with me now and she will be loved once again...Oh and I'm planning on making her new little outfits so she will be played with once again too. Hee, hee, hee.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.
Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Rainy days and a petite red dining room.

It has been a beautiful rainy day today...And a bit cold too, cold enough to make it hail. I love rainy days because for some reason they relax me and put me in a very pensive state.
This morning, as I was sitting next to my window just enjoying the rain trickle down and thinking of everything and nothing in particular a thought popped in my head. I thought, "May be it's time I repainted our petite red dining room."
This room hasn't changed much since I first painted my red wall a few years back. I still love my red wall and it's still my favorite room of the house just the way it is but, I think it might be time for a little change.
My hydrangea center piece is a box my hubby made for me out of a discarded pallet. Love It!
Unfortunately the lighting in this room is not very good, please forgive the bad quality pictures. Anyway, this is our beautiful black buffet. Love it up against the red wall with all the pretty white.
I was having a bit of fun taking's a side view of the buffet.

I really do love this room just the way it is...*Sigh*... Maybe I'll keep it as is for a bit longer. What do you think?

Wishing you all a beautiful day.

Heart of Hearts.

Hi Everyone!

Today, for my next "I Luv s" post, I wanted to share with you one of my most special heart of hearts...
They're pretty little heart pillows I've received from some of the sweetest blogging friends ever. I like to keep them out all year around because when I look at them they make my ♥ sing...even on the toughest of days. And because they are a beautiful reminder of all the sweet and wonderful friendships I've made through blogging. Thank you all for always being so sweet and kind. Love you all.

Wishing you all a wonderful love filled day.

A Little Bit of Red

Hello Everyone!

For my next "I Luv s" post I wanted to show you something with a little more color. Something with a little more of the traditional red color used so much for Valentine's Day...
Hee, hee, hee...I did say a little. My hubby bought this cute little heart and "I Love You" sign for me a few years back...He's so sweet. But I must confess that I've been thinking of painting the sign another color, maybe white or black, and removing the little hearts on the springs so that I may be able to use it anytime of the year...What do you think?

Thank you so much for stopping by today.
Wishing you all a very lovely weekend.

Mini hearts and mini makeover

Hi Everyone!

For the next of my "I Luv s" posts I would like to share with you these sweet mini heart shaped pillows I made last year that just happen to be the perfect size for my sweet little vintage tin can chair which just got a mini makeover.
If you would like to see what the chair looked like before and read the story behind this sweet little treasure just click here.
All I really did was paint it a bit to give it more of a vintage wrought iron look and reupholstered the little cushion with some matelasse fabric left over from another project. Doesn't it make the sweetest little pin cushion? I ♥ it!
Ahhhh, l'amour toujours l'amour!
Wishing you a love filled day my sweet friends.
Thank you for stopping by.

I Luv ♥s

I'm not sure how long this ♥ shape has been the official symbol of Valentine's Day and February but in honor of this sweet little shape and what it means I will be sharing my ♥ for hearts with you in the next series of posts. I hope you enjoy them.

In a previous post (here) I shared a little vignette that included a sweet little framed button heart I made a few years back. Well ever since I made it I have been wanting to translate the idea onto a pillow and finally last week I did.
I used a ton of vintage white, beige and cream buttons to create this little monochromatic pillow. I ♥ how it came out.
Needless to say there was a lot of sewing involve... Phew! :-) But it was lots of fun and worth it.
So what do you think?

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
I always ♥ the company.
